Early in the morning 12 year old Bobby sees a man standing in the middle of the road. Stopping, Bobby barely recognizes his friend Sammy, a road crew supervisor for the County Of San Luis Obispo - his face is all puffy and bleeding. His eyes are swollen shut. On the way to General Hospital in San Luis Obispo , Sammy tells Bobby it was two men from The Nature Conservancy that forced him off the road with their car with the The Nature Conservancy logo on their car. They said to him that they were going to kill him slowly by beating him where his words about them had been coming out- his mouth. Sammy said he pretended to be dead to save his life. Two days later Bobby saw Sammy in his hospital room where Sammy said his wife had been getting telephone calls from The Nature Conservancy threatening her with death if her husband talked to police about them- so The Nature Conservancy escapes again.

About 2 months after Sammy getting beat, Bobby is nearby laying down elfin seeds which would later become the Elfin Forest. Bobby sees something move in the corner of his eye- it is the car with the logo of The Nature Conservancy. A shot is fired, cuts off the tip of his baseball cap. Bobby drops fast. Another shot is fired, splattering mud on his arm. After The Nature Conservancy again leaves 12-year old Bobby for dead, Bobby digs up the 2nd bullet. A County Of San Luis Obispo deputy says it is .45 caliber.

13 year Bobby is hanging about 40 feet over Highway 166 preparing a hole to put sumac seed in as part of a plan to stop landslides that start on the hill, a cut made for the road. Bobby finishes that hole and starts to swing left to make another planting. Facing left as he starts his swing- he hears a shotgun blast and objects strike him in the back of his head, shotgun pellets and rocks broken off the hillside- right where his head had been just before he started his swing to the left! Bobby continues his swing, but faster and went all the way to the other side of the hill. As he hung there he heard the car start up- they had cruised in without the motor running so Bobby would not hear them! As they drove off he saw the The Nature Conservancy logo on the right-side door. Sure not trying to conserve a kid's life.

Surviving 3 murder attempts and seeing two others survive 14-year old Bobby leaves us with one thought: if you see The Nature Conservancy run and hide- they are professionals trying for more donations and more contracts to put millions in their pockets. You may be in their way to make all that money!
