Many years ago James McIntyre , the Cardinal of the
Diocese of Los Angeles, of the Roman Catholic Church
called me and explained that he had resisted the movie
Jesus Christ Superstar as part of the general rebellion of
some people against the Roman Catholic Church- but that
he had much hope that Jesus Christ Superstar would help
some people develope a religion in their own style, as
Jesus Christ Superstar did for the so-called hippie
movement of that time. To avoid him seeming to be a
hypocrite he then asked me to plant Jesus Christ Superstar
like a seed, after his death, in a style like I had planted
tree seeds to protect the original La Purisma Mission site
in the Lompoc valley, at his request.
I do plant the seed here on this showing of Jesus Christ
Superstar , hoping, as Cardinal James McIntyre did, that
somebody, mabye many, will develope their own religion,
lifestyle or whatever without letting anybody else succeed
in holding them to how some others did in the past.
